🧠 Therapeutic Classification: Benzodiazepine anxiolytic.
🩺 Indications: Farmapram (alprazolam) is prescribed for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia), and short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, always under medical supervision.
⚙️ Mechanism of Action: Alprazolam enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that helps reduce excessive brain activity, producing anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant effects.
⏱️ Onset of Action: Usually begins working within 30 to 60 minutes after oral administration.
