Composition:
Each capsule contains:

• Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride equivalent to 500 mg ciprofloxacin base.

• Excipients q.s. 1 capsule.

Mechanism of action:
Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, interfering with bacterial DNA replication and repair, leading to cell death.

Therapeutic indications:
Treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria:

• Complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections.

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia).

• Gastrointestinal infections (bacterial diarrhea, typhoid fever).

• Skin and soft tissue infections.

• Osteomyelitis and joint infections.

• Gynecological and pelvic infections.

Dosage and administration:

• Oral route.

• Adults: 500 mg every 12 hours, as prescribed by a physician.

• Duration: 7 to 14 days depending on infection type and severity.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• Children and adolescents in growth stage (except specific cases).

Warnings and precautions:

• May cause tendinitis or tendon rupture, especially in elderly patients.

• Risk of photosensitivity (avoid intense sunlight exposure).
