Generic name naproxen 250 mg carisoprodol 200 mg. SOMALGESIC ® is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic with muscle relaxant action indicated in musculo-skeletal conditions, where coexistence of pain, inflammation, muscle spasm and limited mobility: injuries and strains, fractures, dislocations, sprains, lumbago, stiff neck, bursitis and muscle contractions. Carisoprodol is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that does not directly relaxes the tension of skeletal muscle in man. Its relaxing action seems to relate to its sedative properties. The onset of effect is rapid and lasts for 4 to 6 hours. Carisoprodol is metabolized in the liver and the products formed are excreted in the urine, the elimination half-life is 8 hours. Carisoprodol appears in breast milk. The naproxen is an NSAID with analgesic and antipyretic. It inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. It is rapidly and completely absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Plasma concentrations are reached within 2 to 4 hours. Its half-life is 13 hours. Binds over 99% to albumin. It removes 95% in the urine as naproxen or 6-0-desmethyl metabolite. It induces the formation of metabolizing enzymes.
